About Choghadiya Today
Why We Built This
It started simply enough.
The team at Choghadiya Today needed a quick, reliable way to check Choghadiya for a specific location, one that was accurate, easy to read, and didn't require navigating through cluttered pages or deciphering dense Panchang tables. So we built one for ourselves.
Then a family member in a different city needed the same thing. So we built another version for them.
At that point, something clicked. If two people in two different cities were facing the same problem, chances were that millions of people across the Hindu diaspora, in Singapore, London, New York, Sydney, Toronto, and beyond, were facing it too. Each of them deserved Choghadiya calculated from their own local sunrise and sunset, not approximated from a city hundreds of miles away.
That personal challenge became ChoghadiyaToday.com.
Since its launch in 2024, we have grown into a resource used by people across the world. From families in Mumbai planning a Griha Pravesh, to Gujarati communities in New Jersey consulting Shubh Muhurat before a business opening, to Hindu diaspora families in Singapore and London timing their wedding ceremonies. We are glad to say that we have achieved what we set out to do: accurate, location-specific Choghadiya for everyone, anywhere in the world.
What We Do
ChoghadiyaToday.com calculates Choghadiya based on the actual sunrise and sunset times for your specific city, not a regional approximation. Every time you check, the seven Choghadiya periods for that day are computed fresh from precise solar data for your location.
This matters because Choghadiya is fundamentally a solar system. A Choghadiya period in London starts and ends at a different time than one in Mumbai, even on the same calendar date. Using a generic or regional calculation introduces errors that can shift your auspicious windows by 20 to 30 minutes or more. We believe that if you are consulting Choghadiya for something important, you deserve accurate times.
Our tool covers:
- Day and night Choghadiya for any city worldwide
- Today, tomorrow, and yesterday views
- All seven Choghadiya types: Amrit, Shubh, Labh, Char, Udveg, Rog, and Kaal
- Guidance on which types are best suited for weddings, business, travel, pooja, housewarming, interviews, and investments
Our Approach
We keep ChoghadiyaToday.com focused and easy to use. No clutter, no unnecessary complexity. You come to check your Choghadiya and you should be able to do that in seconds.
We take the accuracy of our calculations seriously. Choghadiya times are derived from verified astronomical data for your city's coordinates, accounting for seasonal variation in sunrise and sunset throughout the year. When daylight saving time shifts your local clocks, our calculations adjust automatically because they are anchored to solar time, not clock time.
We also recognise that Choghadiya is a living tradition consulted by real people for real decisions: weddings, ceremonies, business launches, journeys, and daily devotional practice. We approach that responsibility with respect for the Vedic tradition this system comes from, and with a commitment to providing guidance that is both accurate and accessible.
